Argentine tango is a dance of passion, elegance, grace, speed and with difficult steps. Born around 1880 in the Río de la Plata region, tango is an exclusively urban phenomenon whose major development took place in Buenos Aires.
The show is a retelling of the history of “tango”, where the tradicional and the modern features are both combined.
In the beginning, the dance was only for men, the “compadritos” (the show-off men) used the dance in a stone pavement corner of a suburb under the streetligh and with the music of the sprout; little by little women were introduced but the had shelter themselves in marginal neighbourhoods, in brothels. The facts that they reached the patio of the tenements houses was considered a grat triumph.
Long time has passed since then, and today this is a sexy and armonious dance, it is presented as a triumph on the main stages of the world.
This is a homage to the best compositors and autors of tango of this century, fron our great Carlos Gardel up to Astor Piazolla, with his “Balada para un loco” and “Libertango”. To end up with, this is a traditional thing with the presentation of a great tango-singer where the feeling, the interpretation and charisma of our people´s idol go together.
To sum up, a kind of dance where our audience will be the star of the night, in the reafirmation an the remenbrance of our dear Beba Bidart,a dancer, an actress and a singer that, with her charisma and goodness, transformed “Taconeando” into a place for “tangueros” an dancer, which is still in everyones´s mind.
